PromptReel FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about PromptReel and AI video prompt engineering.

What is PromptReel?
PromptReel is a professional AI video prompt engineering tool. It converts simple scripts or ideas into highly structured, multi-shot cinematic prompts optimized for advanced AI video models like Kling, Veo, and Seedance. It solves the problem of AI video morphing and inconsistent characters.
How does PromptReel prevent AI video morphing?
We use a proprietary prompt architecture that relies on 'Immutable Subject Locks' and 'Timestamped Motion Bridges'. By injecting rigid character profiles into every single shot and defining explicit camera logic, we force the AI to maintain consistency across scenes rather than guessing and morphing.
Which AI video models are supported?
PromptReel currently outputs highly optimized prompts for Kling, Higgsfield, Magnific, Grok, Veo, Runway, Minimax Hailuo, Wan, LTX, PixVerse, and generic formats. Our 'Target Video Models' adapter automatically translates your workflow into the specific grammar each model prefers.
Do I need to know how to prompt to use this?
No. You can start from a simple idea (e.g., 'A cyberpunk detective walking in the rain'), and PromptReel will automatically expand it into a professional, zero-drift prompt structure with camera angles, lighting, and motion logic.
Is my data and prompt history saved?
Yes, if you create an account, your scenes, subject locks, and workflow preferences are saved securely. We use Clerk for authentication and save your settings directly to your profile.
How do I use PromptReel? What is the exact workflow?

To achieve zero-drift, Hollywood-grade consistency, follow this exact workflow:

  1. Step 1: Download the Package – Download your complete generated prompts package from PromptReel. This contains all your scenes, subject locks, and motion bridges.
  2. Step 2: Generate Consistent Characters & Props – Copy the "Consistency Bible" prompts from the package into your favorite image model (like Nano Banana, Midjourney, or Flux) to generate the baseline images for your characters and props.
  3. Step 3: Generate Start and End Frames – Take those newly generated character/prop images and use them as visual references in your image model to generate the exact Start and End frames for each scene in your package. These become your cinematic anchors.
  4. Step 4: Generate the Video with Motion Bridges – Move over to your target video model (Kling, Veo, or Seedance). Upload your Start and End frames as keyframes, and paste the "Motion Bridge" text from your package to direct the exact camera and character movement.
  5. Step 5: Render – Hit generate! By locking the visual frames and defining explicit motion bridges, you guarantee absolute consistency across every shot.
Can I use my own OpenRouter API key and change the AI model?
Yes! You can easily plug in your own OpenRouter API key in the settings to generate unlimited prompt structures. While PromptReel uses x-ai/grok-3 as its primary default engine for its incredible reasoning, you have full control to change the model in the settings. You can switch to OpenAI's GPT-4o, Anthropic's Claude 3.5 Sonnet, Google's Gemini 1.5 Pro, Meta's Llama 3, or any other model supported by OpenRouter.
Are the generated prompts editable?
Yes, they are fully editable. While PromptReel does the heavy lifting of generating the complex cinematic structures and subject locks, you can easily tweak any prompt to fit your exact creative vision, style, or personal taste before rendering.
